The Process

Laying the foundation for your perfect eLearning course

The starting point. All good eLearning projects start with a plan. The Big Why.

The Needs Analysis helps you to create the reasons for the project. What the project will aim to achieve and who the target audience will be. The process is essentially a structured brainstorming session, that normally includes all of the project’s key stakeholders.

Questions around the learner characteristics & context, the actual structure of the course as well as the kind of resources that will be needed should all be covered

Adding structure & flow to the eLearning course.

Completion of the Needs Analysis allows for the curation of foundational material that is then shaped into the course Outline.

The creation of the Outline is a fundamental step as it adds a sense of structure and flow that’s needed to begin shaping the course. For the first time, it allows for the proper visualisation of the learning journey and helps to define the natural layout for the richer details that follow.

Two feedback iterations are allowed for as part of this process, meaning that clients may be fully involved in the course outline creation, as needed and thereby preventing the chance of unwanted surprises down the line.

Filling the Outline with rich detail

The creation of a storyboard is the next fundamental step in the process. It is where the substance and detail are added to the Outline.

Lessons and modules are principle ingredients here and allow the Instructional Designers a platform to brief the creatives in the development team. Creating a storyboard is a little like writing code for a website build as it leads the way for the visual translation that follows.

As with the creation of the Outline, our clients all benefit from two opportunities to give feedback during this stage, allowing for better collaboration and outcomes along the design journey.

Adding visual excitement to the design process

The creation of a Moodboard is something that is rarely offered by other agencies as part of the standard eLearning course design process.

The eWyse process always includes this creative document. It adds a dash of visual creativity to the design process, as well as allowing parties to agree on all aspects of branding, style and imagery.

Integral to our “no-nasty-surprise” philosophy of working, the Moodboard assists with the aligning of expectations and is an exciting addition to the development journey for all stakeholders.

Client feedback is also integral to this part of the process.

Experience a small chunk of the course for the first time

The creation of the demo is the last step and allows for the final round of client feedback before the green light to the final production of course materials.

Any final comments may be noted and bugs ironed out, allowing once again for a reduced chance of any unwanted surprises at the end.

Final delivery & all systems go!

After all the hard work, multiple iterations of feedback (all included in the scope of the project development) and creative masterminding, your final course is now ready to be delivered and used!
