Our main methodology for creating tailor-made educational solutions

Our main methodology for creating tailor-made educational solutions is as follow:

  • Needs Assessment
  • Solution Architecture
  • Production
  • Quality Assurance and Testing
  • Delivery/Publishing

By utilizing the “Holocentric Ed-Tech” byword, we can achieve a macrosystem solution that meets the needs of all subsystems, individuals, and stakeholders.

How it works in practice:

Holocentric

We believe that the best solution can be achieved through the collective creativity of the stakeholders. Our experience is that a Deus Ex Machina solution never fully satisfies the needs of the client. We facilitate dialog and “negotiations” for the solution in the advisory and coaching capacity. Communicating the needs and wishes of each and every stakeholder is the most important part of this process.

Meeting the diverse learning styles of a very heterogeneous group of people still proves to be a very daunting task. We employ a wide variety of tools to bring complex materials closer to people. One of the most important is Experiential Learning. It is a form of cooperative learning where the participants directly experience the learning environment and the content. The modern technology helps us create such a training system and all of its drawbacks, such as lack of contact and personal communication, low engagement rates etc., are solved by the quality of the content and technical excellence.

We believe that understanding the approach and the underlying changes it brings is crucial not only for the stakeholders, but also for all people using the training material. The perfect metaphor would be: “A seed planted on an untilled land will not grow to its full potential”. A constant and measured communication channel is necessary for achieving the best result in an educational programme. We will be closely working with you to create and maintain the said communications to manage the challenge of making the perfect solution for you.

Educational

Being an agency that pivoted from facilitator-led training 3 years ago, our main focus isn’t creating the top-of-the-line technological-wonder solution but rather using technology to achieve an educational tool designed to complement the needs of participants, trainers and stakeholders.

We rely on progressive training as the go-to methodology. The curricula we develop are focused on thematic units. We respect and aim for participants’ personal goals, learning resources are varied and engaging etc.

The Achilles heel of all adult training programs is motivation. Addressing this subject requires a deep knowledge of the target audience and combining intrinsic motivational factors with extrinsic motivational factors. In a perfect world, everybody would have sufficient intrinsic motivation to learn. We understand this isn’t the case. However, by utilising technology we can now build on the intrinsic factors with high-quality content, gamification, microlearning and other extrinsic motivators to help the participants bridge that gap and, in the end, enjoy learning.

Technology

As stated earlier, technology is here to complement training and not the other way around. Enhancing the experience to achieve a better understanding of the materials is its main purpose.

The content we upload  will be compliant with the latest Instructional Design standards (interactivity, rich media, UX/UI etc.). It also includes responsiveness. We want to make sure that the training material is available on devices the participants find the most suitable. All content must also be SCORM and/or xAPI compliant for easy implementation.

To achieve a level of extrinsic motivation that suits the participants, we use gamification elements and rich media content. Mechanical Gamification (points, levels, achievements) and Narrative Gamification (Quests, Characters, Storyline) can be used in small amounts but grant a big payoff in terms of user engagement. Rich media consists of digital hand-outs in form of interactive infographics, checklists and other deliverables that enhance post-educational participant engagement.

We put a lot of stress on quality assurance and testing. Software user testing principles have proven to be a vital part of ensuring end-user satisfaction. The quality of the material is ultimately substantiated with metrics such as engagement, usage time, retention and bouncing. We are adamant in pursuing higher user satisfaction and knowledge retention rates.

Every person in our development and design team has appropriate education and background qualifications so we can ensure technical quality whilst delivering learning programs.
